I. OF THE SCRIPTURES
WE BELIEVE that the Holy Bible as originally written was verbally inspired and the product of Spirit-controlled men and therefore, was truth without any admixture of error. WE BELIEVE the Bible is to be the true center of Christian unity and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, opinions shall be tried (Psalm 68:11; 119:89; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20; 1 Thessalonians 2:13).
II. OF THE TRUE GOD
WE BELIEVE in one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; THAT these three persons have the same nature, attributes, and perfections (1 John 5:7; Matthew 3:16; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
III. OF CREATION
WE BELIEVE that the universe with all that is in it was created in the beginning by the Word of God (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 33:6,9); THAT man's body was made from the dust of the ground and that he was constituted a living soul by a creative act of God (Genesis 1:26, 27; Genesis 2:7); THAT the first man Adam fell from his original state of innocence, became corrupt in nature, and came under condemnation and sentence of death; AND THAT because of the unity of the race in Adam, its natural head, all men have come under the same consequences of sin, and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and deed (Romans 5:12, 18, 19).
IV. OF CHRIST
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man (Genesis 3:15; Matthew 1:18-26; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6); THAT He arose in the very body in which He had been crucified (1 Corinthians 15:3,4); THAT He ascended to Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God interceding for His redeemed people (Hebrews 7:24, 25; 9:24).
V. OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with God the Father and God the Son, having the same nature (Matthew 28:19); THAT in His relation to the unbelieving world, He restrains the evil one until God's purpose is fulfilled (2 Thessalonians 2:6,7); THAT He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment (John 16:7-11); THAT He bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony (Acts 4:29,31); He seals, indwells, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies (sets apart), and is an ever-present help to the believer (John 14:25,26; 14:16,17; Luke 24:49; Romans 8:26).
VI. OF GRACE IN THE NEW CREATION
WE BELIEVE that there is only one way of salvation; THAT all sinners must be born again (Acts 4:12; John 3:3, 5-7); THAT the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17); THAT it is instantaneous and not a process (John 3:16-18); THAT in the new birth the one dead in trespasses and sins is made a partaker of the divine nature and receives eternal life, the free gift of God (Ephesians 2:1-5); Romans 6:23); THAT the new creation is brought about in a manner above our comprehension solely by the power of the Holy Spirit in connection with divine truth, so as to secure our voluntary obedience to the gospel (John 3:8); THAT its proper evidence appears in the holy fruits of repentance and faith and newness of life (Romans 6:16-23).
WE BELIEVE that through faith in the crucified and risen Christ, man is "Justified freely from all things" and given the position of a child in the family of God. WE BELIEVE in the eternal security of all those who place their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior (John 10:27-30; Romans 8:33-39).
VII. OF SATAN
WE BELIEVE that the fallen angel known as Satan was originally perfect in his ways (Ezekiel 28:12-19); THAT because of pride and opposition to God he fell and drew with him a large number of other angels (Isaiah 14:12-15); THAT he, together with his demons, is active in opposition to God and His work (2 Thessalonians 2:3-12; 1 Thessalonians 2:18); THAT Satan and his emissaries were defeated in the Cross of Christ (Hebrews 2:13-15); THAT he will be bound for a thousand years at the return of Christ to the earth (Revelation 20:1-3); AND THAT ultimately they will be cast into the lake of fire where they will be punished eternally (Revelation 20:7-15).
VIII. OF THE LOCAL CHURCH
WE BELIEVE its officers are pastors, and deacons whose qualifications, claims, and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures (Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:4-9); THAT the local church has absolute right of self-government, free from interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations, and the one and only Head is Christ, through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:19-23; 3:20, 21); THAT it is Scriptural for true churches to co-operate with each other in contending for the faith and the furtherance of the Gospel (Galatians 1:1-5; Ephesians 2:19-22); THAT each local church is sole judge of the measures and method of its co-operation on all matters of membership, of policy, of government, of discipline, of benevolence; THAT the will of the local church is final (Revelation 2:6).
WE BELIEVE that there are two ordinances set forth in the Word of God and these two, baptism and the Lord's Supper, are to be observed until Jesus comes (1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Romans 6:3-11); THAT in accordance with the New Testament principles, regeneration and baptism are prerequisites to membership in the local Church (Acts 2:40,41,46,47); THAT baptism is the immersion of a believer in water and the Lord's Supper is a commemoration of the Savior's death "till He comes;" WE BELIEVE that there is no saving merit in church membership, baptism, or the Lord's Supper (Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5-7).
WE BELIEVE it is the duty of the local church to watch over its members, to purify itself from all impurities, to build itself up in the "most holy faith," and to engage zealously in evangelistic and missionary work (1 John 2:15,16; 3:1-3; Jude 20,21; 1 Thessalonians 1:3-10); THAT it is to train its members to do effective work in God's service (Acts 13:2).
IX. OF CIVIL GOVERNMENT
WE BELIEVE that civil government is of divine appointment for the interests and good order of human society; THAT magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously respected, and obeyed (Romans 13:1-7; 1 Timothy 2:1-4), except in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience, and the coming "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS" (Acts 4:13-21; Psalm 2:1-12; 1 Timothy 6:15-16).
X. OF THE PERSONAL, VISIBLE, PRE-MILLENNIAL AND IMMINENT RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST
WE BELIEVE in the personal and pre-millennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ before the ushering in of the Tribulation (John 14:1-3; Acts 1:10,11); IN THE bodily resurrection of all those who have died in Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 5:1-11; Revelation 3:10; Philippians 3:20,21; Romans 8:23; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-14); THAT He will reign on the earth during the Millennium, after which the wicked dead will be resurrected and judged along with Satan and his emissaries and cast into the lake where they will be punished forever (Revelation 20:1-6, 7-15; 21:7,8).
XI. OF SEPARATION
WE BELIEVE that whole-hearted devotion to the cause of Christ and separation from all worldly practices is the only Scriptural basis for a happy and useful Christian life (1 John 2:15-17; John 15:18,19; 17:13-20; Galatians 1:4); THAT for this reason we oppose all indulgences in intoxicating liquors, in dancing, court card playing, the use of tobacco in any form, theater going, membership in secret societies, and all similar practices which detract from a separated life (James 4:4; Romans 6:17-23; Colossians 3:17).
WE BELIEVE in separation from apostasy, which includes organizations such as the National Council of Churches and the World Council of Churches and their agencies (2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Ephesians 5:1-17; 2 John 7,11; 2 Timothy 4:1-4; 3:1-5).
XII. OF FUTURE LIFE, BODILY RESURRECTION AND ETERNAL JUDGMENT
WE BELIEVE that the spirits of the saved at death go immediately to be with Christ in heaven (Philippians 1:21-23; 2 Corinthians 5:8), where they abide in joyful fellowship with Him until His second coming, when their bodies shall be raised from the grave and changed into the likeness of His own glorious body (Philippians 3:20,21; 1 Corinthians 15:35-58; 1 John 3:20) at which time their works shall be brought before the Judgment Seat of Christ for the determination of rewards, a judgment which may issue in the loss of rewards but not the loss of the soul (1 Corinthians 3:8-15); THAT the spirits of the unsaved at death descend immediately into Hades where they are kept under punishment until the final day of judgment (Luke 16:19-31; 2 Peter 2:9 ARV) at which time their bodies shall be raised from the grave, they shall be judged according to their works, and cast into hell, the place of final and everlasting punishment (Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8; Mark 9:43-48; Jude 13).
